One of the things I believe deeply is this: real progress doesn’t usually come from massive overhauls.
It comes from a handful of clear, intentional commitments — practiced consistently.
So here’s a question I want to put out there, both for you and for me:
What three things are you committed to doing differently this year to up your game and your results?
I’ll go first.
My Three Commitments
1. Get out of the chair and take healthy breaks.
This one is simple — and overdue.
I spend a lot of time sitting, thinking, planning, producing. What I’ve learned (and forgotten, and learned again) is that my energy and clarity improve dramatically when I move.
That might mean taking a short walk, getting outside for fresh air, or walking the dogs an extra time in the afternoon to break up the day.
Nothing extreme. Just intentional movement — built into the rhythm of the day.
2. Plan tomorrow before it begins.
I learned this habit years ago from two great coaches: Brendon Burchard and David Byrd.
Both of them preached the same mantra: Plan tomorrow today.
I lived by that for a long time — and it worked. Somewhere along the way, I let it slide. So I’m picking it back up.
Before I shut things down for the day, I’m committing to clarifying tomorrow’s priorities, identifying the one or two things that really matter, and reducing friction before the day even starts.
3. Show up every day as my best self — no excuses.
This one is personal.
I’ve never been lazy. But my energy does fluctuate from day to day — and I’ve learned that ignoring that reality doesn’t help.
What does help is getting more consistent rest, being focused about where my energy goes, and showing up with intention — even on the days that feel off.
I believe that doing those things will make me a better professional and a better human being.
Those are my pledges.
Now I’m Curious — What Are Yours?
